<br><strong>IPUMS:</strong><br> The number of employed persons aged 15 to 24 years divided by the number of persons in the labor force (employed or unemployed) aged 15 to 24 years. Employment status is determined using the IPUMS EMPSTAT variable. Labor force participation is determined using the IPUMS LABFORCE variables. The definition of employed and unemployed varies across samples. The reference period for the employment status question varies across censuses.<br></p>
