Number of live births in the last 5 years who were weighed at birth.
Calculation:
The numerator divided by the denominator, multiplied by 100.

Reporting of birth weight is based on either a written record or mother’s recall. In DHS-V and DHS-VI a percent distribution of birth weight was provided for children weighed at birth. Care should be taken when comparing birth weight data with data reported in earlier DHS reports.
