<br><strong>IPUMS:</strong><br> The number of persons living in private rented dwellings divided by the total population living in private dwellings. Persons living in rented dwellings were identified using the detailed version of the IPUMS OWNERSHIP variable is considered renting. This indicator is calculated for private households only. Dwelling ownership information is not available for group quarters such as institutions and other collective dwellings for most censuses. For this reason, group quarters are excluded from both numerator and denominator of this indicator. Group quarters are identified using the IPUMS GQ variable: <a href="https://international.ipums.org/international-action/variables/GQ#codes_section">Link</a>.<br></p>
